We’re proud to share that longtime Friends of Dearborn Park member Kevin Polite and owner of HausZwei Homes has been appointed by Commissioner Chakira Johnson (District 4) to serve on the DeKalb County Recreation, Parks and Cultural Affairs Citizens Advisory Board.

This 11-member advisory board includes appointments from the CEO, Board of Commissioners, Board of Education, DeKalb Municipal Association, and the legislative delegation. Its role is to provide input on programming, park facilities, and long-term planning—ensuring that all residents of DeKalb County have access to quality, inclusive recreational services.

Kevin has been with Friends of Dearborn Park since the group’s founding in 2011, consistently advocating for the preservation and improvement of our neighborhood park. His appointment reflects over a decade of community leadership and a deep commitment to making green spaces accessible and welcoming for everyone.
