City of Decatur Mayor Patti Garrett, City of Decatur Commissioner Tony Powers and City of Decatur City Manager Andrea Arnold emailed Friends of Dearborn Park with the following update regarding Dearborn Park Trail and the portion of the City of Decatur Master Connectivity and Pedestrian Plan

” nothing is planned for on the near horizon for this part of the PATH Connectivity Plan. The city worked very hard to acquire this property and it is certainly our intention that any future uses would be sensitive to the environment and would respect the uniqueness of the property. Any proposal brought forward in future years would be part of a public meeting and process.”

The question would Path Foundation be environmentally friendly with any proposals and trails through Dearborn Park, including ensuring the wildlife and creek would be protected, had been asked of City of Decatur Georgia back on December 31, 2016.  We are glad to announce that they will also make sure all voices will be heard from City of Decatur and hopefully, those in adjacent unincorporated DeKalb. The purchased property includes the land sold by HausZwei Homes.
